Canberra Careers Expo

UCHSK Year 9 and 10 students will be joining senior students from all Canberra schools to go and see the Canberra Careers Expo in Week 2 of next term.  It's an excellent annual event, that gets the students to start thinking about the many options available to them.  See below, for more information - there are some events held outside of the school excursion time, and have a chat with your Year 9/10 student about what they're interested in seeing.

Canberra Careers Xpo 2015
Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th July
EPIC

Exhibitors
There will be more than 80 exhibitors including universities, TAFEs, employer groups, registered training organisations, apprenticeship centres, private providers, and government agencies. 

Indigenous Employment Exhibition
The inaugural Exhibition will provide information about the career and education opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the ACT.

Small Business and Entrepreneurs Hub
The Hub will run from 5.00pm to 7.00pm on Wednesday 29 July in the Freycinet Room. Guest presenters include Louise Curtis, the founder and CEO of Lollypotz, and Chris Hansen, creator and Managing Director of Likeajob.com.au.

WorldSkills Australia’s Try’aSkill
Try’aSkill will feature hairdressing and beauty therapy, fitness, surveying and mapping, automotive, horticulture, forensics, baking, bookkeeping, first aid, aged care, business technology services and hospitality.

Planning Future Pathways Expo
The Expo, for students with disability will be held on Wednesday from 9.30am to 2.30pm and 4.30pm to 7.00pm.
